Milan Design Week 2018

KOHLER returned to Milan Design Week during April to host a weeklong celebration of modernism in design. This world-famous design week attracts thousands of luxury brand designers from all over the world, all attending to share their latest launches and be inspired by the most up-to-date trends.
Located at the historic Museo Bagatti Valsecchi in Milan, Italy, the artistic installation featured our newest global products, covering the design spectrum of MAXIMIN - maximalism to minimalism.
Whether geometric and warm or decadent and expressive, modernism continues to make a powerful impression on the world of design.
“Great design is based on balancing the fundamentals with added layers of expression,” said Mark Bickerstaffe, Director of New Product Development for Kohler.
“This year’s exhibit demonstrated the idea of scalable modern design – products and spaces that are simple and clean to those that are complex and dramatic.”
Each product installation offered a striking, modern juxtaposition with the historic museum space. Products featured at this year’s exhibition included:
Dutchmaster Floral Vessels
Named for the painterly style that inspired the basins’ pattern, the new Dutchmaster collection explores dramatic botanicals in lavish and moody hues. These vessels capture the movement and beauty of florals and join our globally-popular Artist Editions range.
Our new Components range of brassware offers freedom of choice with interchangeable taps in modern, minimalist options. The range is pared down and refined, but luxurious and chic enough to make a statement in any room. The matte black finish is a nod to contemporary and industrial styles, adding instant refinement.
This range also includes Ombré finishes for a dramatic transition between colour and graphic elements. The colour pairings include Rose Gold to Polished Nickel and Titanium to Rose Gold.
Veil Lighted Suite
The Veil collection gives modern bathroom design a new twist by featuring gentle lines and sculpted asymmetrical shapes.
The Lighted Suite creates a perfectly tailored bathroom atmosphere with adjustable lighting on the mirror, vessel basin, vanity unit, bath base and wall hung intelligent toilet.
The lighting features provide users with the ability to optimise lighting, from the functional to the ambient, through scaled colours and light temperatures.
Veil Lighted’s vanity features sensor-operated, adjustable glass that allows homeowners to switch from frosted to clear by touch.
These new items will be on display exclusively in our Kohler Experience Centre at West One bathrooms in Clerkenwell, London, from May 2018.
